DSWD-6 Releases P38 M Assistance for El Nino Affected Families

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 6 released a total of P38,899,484.90 worth of assistance to El Niño affected families in Western Visayas.

 

As of May 2, 2024, DSWD already served 63,824 Family Food Packs to 63,824 families to 39 cities and municipalities in the region. 8,307 Family Food packs were distributed in Aklan, 15,934 packs in Antique, Capiz, 9,416 packs in Iloilo, 29, 167 packs in Negros Occidental.

 

DSWD Regional Director Atty. Carmelo N. Nochete said, “We are doubling our efforts in providing Family Food Packs to affected families. Our Angels in Red Vest will always do their best to help El Niño affected populace subsist this drought season.”

 

The Disaster Response Section of DSWD-Disaster Response Management Division under the supervision of Division Chief Erlyn L. Garcia continuously coordinates with other concerned local government units for the release and distribution of Family Food Packs to El Niño affected families in their localities. /rjhilario/drmd/
