KALIBO, Aklan- Both former Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores and his son, incumbent Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores, transferred Monday afternoon to the Lakas-CMD Party, the House of Representatives has announced.
In the photo released by the House of Representatives Monday, no less than House Speaker Martin Romualdez personally took the oath for the father and son.
Those inducted were Iligan City Lone District Rep. Celso Regencia (3rd from right), Aklan Gov. Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores (left), his father, former Gov. Florencio “Joeben” M. Miraflores (3rd from left), and Pampanga board member Alyssa Michaela “Mica” Mercado Gonzales (2nd from right) as new Lakas-CMD members at the House of Representatives Monday afternoon.
Former President turned Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (2nd from left), Lakas-CMD President Emeritus, witnessed the event.
In the recent elections, Joen was running under the PDP-Laban Party, while the older Miraflores was reported to be affiliated with the Kampi Party.
The reason is currently not clear as to why both Miraflores have shifted to Lakas-CMD. It was gathered that the older Miraflores was also once a Lakas-CMD party member.
