KALIBO, Aklan- The float of Hayahay Seafoods was declared the first winner of the Nego Parada Float Competition. The float competition for businesses was considered one of the highlights of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival this year.

Paul John Mirto, event chairman, said that the second prize went to the Palawan Pawnshop, while the third went to Village Motors Trading (VMT).

The nego float parade held last January 17 was organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Aklan Chapter in partnership with the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival Board (KAFEB), the municipal tourism office, and the office of Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro.

Hayahay, represented by owner Nenia Macahilig, bags the P20,000 cash reward: P15,000 for Palawan and P10,000 for VMT.

“We are thankful to 38 business establishments in Kalibo who have joined the nego parada. We will make it better next year,” said Mirto, who owns the Technopoint x Tarp Printshop.
