IBAJAY, Aklan- The town of Ibajay in Western Aklan is now considered a sleeping giant in the wake of several developments in the said municipality.
Aklan Second District Congressman Teodorico Haresco announced Saturday that the Land Transportation Office (LOT) has officially placed their new office at Barangay Agbago. The Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will also soon start to conduct offices in their compound.
The enactment  of the Ibajay District Office was made possible through a house bill passed by Haresco in the Congress.
The office will soon house complete amenities such as those of a driving academy, a smoke testing center, among others.
“Aside from this, we expect more investments to come to our town. Among those is the setting up of an LPG company and virgin coconut oil production, among others,” said Haresco.
Because of the said development, Ibajay town is becoming a center of commerce and trade in the Western District of Aklan. Former Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores, who was present during the launching, said he is excited about the development in their town. Aside from the launching of LTO District Office,
Haresco also led in the distribution of electronic trikes to the different local governments of Western districts. Lezo Mayor Mary Lynette Fernandez, who was one of those who received the e-trikes, said they will use the said transport as a service vehicle for health workers in the different barangays.
