Iloilo City – Former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 Assistant Regional Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes takes the seat as the new OIC-Regional Director of the DTI Region 6 effective October 1, 2022.
After the retirement of former Regional Director Rebecca Rascon, OIC-RD Pollentes has been appointed as the new head of office by virtue of DTI Memorandum Order No. 22-2465, series of 2022.
Former RD Rascon led the simultaneous turnover of offices of the Office of the Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, and Iloilo Provincial Office on September 30 at the DTI Regional Office in Iloilo City.
Former DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Felisa Judith L. Degala is the new OIC-Asst. Regional Director while former DTI Antique Provincial Director Ma. Dinda R. Tamayo will take her place as the Provincial Director of DTI Iloilo Provincial Office.
Meanwhile, Supervising Trade and Industry Development Specialist, Lynna Joy B. Cardinal will lead the DTI Antique Provincial Office as the new OIC-Provincial
In a related report, DTI Region 6 OIC-RD Ermelinda Pollentes explains the importance of revisiting and recalibrating the bamboo strategic roadmap in the development of the bamboo industry in the region as she welcomes the participants to the Regional Bamboo Industry Assessment and Strategic Planning during the opening ceremony held on Oct. 4 at the Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.
The 2-day activity will cover strategic planning sessions, assessment of accomplishments, determine strategies that are relevant in the next period and prepare the 2022-2025 action plan of the bamboo industry clusters in the region.
OIC-RD Pollentes hopes that the members of the Western Visayas Bamboo Industry Development Council, local government units, shared service facility cooperators, Negosyo Center Business Counselors, provincial bamboo focal persons, the academe, national government agencies and the private sector will continue to collaborate with each other and come up with a relevant, updated, re calibrated and inclusive plan to further develop the bamboo industry in the region with the immense potential to be the next bamboo capital of the country.
