The Department of Tourism (DOT) lauded P-pop powerhouses SB19 and BINI for their contributions to the Philippine music industry and their growing influence in promoting the country as the newest Tourism Ambassadors.

During the 2026 Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Awards on Wednesday (October 14), Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay recognized how the P-pop royalties proudly represent the Philippines on the global stage while remaining connected to the communities that shaped them.

“𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘉19 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘐𝘕𝘐 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴’ 𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘈𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘺, 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴. 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥, 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯, 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺,” Tourism Secretary Angara-Mathay said in a message delivered by Assistant Secretary Armand Lorenze V. Sapitan.

Recently, the DOT launched dedicated microsites for the Nation’s Girl Group and the Kings of P-pop, featuring the members’ dream destinations, paired with special discounted travel packages offered exclusively through DOT-accredited partners via the tourism.gov.ph website.

The Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino 2026, presented under the Awit Awards, was organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) in partnership with Go Live Asia to recognize artists, music professionals, and industry pioneers whose contributions have helped shape Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
