KALIBO, Aklan-โ€œKM 0: Start with LTOโ€ is the newest public service program of Kalibo Cable TV Community Channel, conceptualized by DJ Monsour Betero as a unique initiative harnessing the power of television and social media for community benefit.

First aired on August 7, the show zeroes in on traffic and transportation concerns by providing timely updates, disseminating important information, and relaying the latest circulars, announcements, and policies implemented by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

At the helm of the program are two highly qualified hosts: Engr. Marlon L. Velez, Chief of LTOโ€“Kalibo District, and Hon. Matt Aaron P. Guzman, Councilor of Kalibo and Chairperson of the Committee on Transportation for three consecutive terms in the Sangguniang Bayan.

Their combined expertiseโ€”one as Aklanโ€™s top LTO official and the other as a consistent legislative leader on transportationโ€”makes them credible voices in guiding the public through issues of mobility, discipline, and road safety.

The goal of KM 0 goes beyond mere discussion. It seeks to empower ordinary citizens by making technical laws and regulations understandable and relatable. The show explains both national mandates and local ordinances, answers queries from viewers, and raises awareness about road safety, discipline, and responsibility. By offering practical knowledge, KM 0 helps motorists and commuters alike to avoid violations, save time, and ensure safer travel experiences.

Ultimately, the program promotes trust between government agencies and the people, improves compliance, and contributes to building a safer and more orderly Kalibo. Topics already featured include practical matters such as how to process and renew a driverโ€™s license, vehicle registration, understanding the โ€œNo Plate, No Travelโ€ policy, the importance of using standard protective helmets, the purpose of checkpoints, and the implications of traffic and transport violations.

Future episodes promise to tackle more pressing transportation concerns, including increased awareness on traffic safety campaigns, ensuring that the program remains relevant and responsive to public needs. More than just a talk show, KM 0 embodies both public service and corporate social responsibility.

For Kalibo Cable, it extends the networkโ€™s reach beyond news and entertainment into genuine community service. For the LTO, it provides an opportunity to bridge the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that the rules of the road are not only written on paper but also clearly understood and followed by the people.

Airing every Thursday night on Kalibo Cable TV Community Channel Facebook Page and on Community Channels 1 and 24, KM 0 continues to serve as a vital platform in proving that public service, when combined with modern media, can truly make roads safer and communities stronger.
