Malay Showcases Best of Mainland and Boracay at Regional Travel Fair

COTABATO CITY — The Municipality of Malay, Aklan in Central Philippines is showcasing its diverse tourism offerings, cultural heritage and world-class destinations at the Regional Travel Fair featuring the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), held at the Alnor Hotel and Convention Center in Cotabato City.

Representing the Municipality of Malay is Chief Tourism Operations Officer Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr., who is leading the municipality’s participation in the tourism promotion event.

“Malay is highlighting the vibrant culture, authentic eco-cultural products and distinctive tourism services of Mainland Malay, emphasizing that the municipality offers a wide range of experiences beyond the shores of world-famous Boracay Island,” he said.

The participation also provides an opportunity to promote local products, cultural heritage and community-based tourism initiatives that reflect the identity and potential of Mainland Malay as a destination.

“At the same time, Malay continues to champion Boracay Island, promoting its refreshed identity as “The World’s Best Beach.” The island remains a premier tourism destination while continuing to advance sustainable, responsible and world-class beach tourism,” he added in his Facebook post.

The Regional Travel Fair features a Business-to-Business (B2B) session on August 14, 2026, followed by a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Fair from August 15 to 16, 2026.

Visitors to the Malay booth can discover a diverse selection of travel opportunities, local Mainland Malay products and tourism experiences, offering travelers a closer look at what the municipality has to offer beyond Boracay.

“The Municipality of Malay expressed its appreciation to the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) for organizing the initiative, which provides a platform for tourism stakeholders to strengthen industry connections, promote local destinations and bring communities closer to travelers from across the country,” Delos Santos added.

Through its participation, Malay continues to promote local tourism, support communities and showcase the cultural and natural diversity of the Philippines.
