Ms World Philippines Western Visayas Press Launch in Boracay

BORACAY Island- Official finalists for this year’s Miss World Philippines-Western Visayas (MWP-WV) will be having a Press Launch December 2, 2023, to officially introduce them in public.

MJ McLelland, executive director of MWP-Western Visayas, said that the Press Launch will be held at the Belmont Hotel at 3:00 pm. The activity is considered the first in the region.

“Witness the unveiling of our 15 Official Candidates, as they showcase not only their beauty but also their intelligence and charisma in this prestigious event. The picturesque setting of Boracay will serve as the backdrop for this unforgettable moment, promising an afternoon filled with elegance and excitement,” said Mclelland who herself is a former beauty queen of Kalibo, Aklan.

The finalists came from the different provinces of Western Visayas, namely Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.
Mclelland was also the franchise holder of the MWP-WV.

On December 3, the finalists will also embark on the beach beauty competition at the Savoy Hotel-Boracay.

Whoever is crowned MWP-WV will represent the region in the national pageant.

Meanwhile, prior to the Press Launch, the candidates were briefed during an online forum last November 2.

On November 15, the candidates underwent preliminary official photo shoot and video shoot events held at the Box at Ilomoca, Megaworld Iloilo Business Park Iloilo City. On December 4, 2023 the finalists will have another set of photo and video shoots at Savoy Hotel.

From December 2, 2023-January 5, 2024 the finalists will be having their respective social media campaigns.

On January 4, 2024 the MWP-WV candidates will have a parade of beauties, a mall show and close door interviews at the Festive Walk Mall Iloilo.

On January 5, 2024, Mclelland said they will be having a corporate visit and a designer gala fashion show also at the Ilocomoca.

“The Designer Gala Show spotlights the wearable art, and MET Gala Couture Outfits with a theme ‘Canvass and Couture; Where Art Meets Fashion ” a gala fashion show of artistry in motion. This is an event where designers and artists showcase their unique and artistic clothing, accessories, and other wearable creations to an audience. This event combines elements of fashion, art, and performance, providing a platform for designers to express their creativity and push the boundaries of traditional fashion,” she added.

The Pageant Night is set on January 6, 2024 at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICON).
