NUJP-Leyte calls for immediate release of Honneur David-Safari

Tacloban City- In solidarity with colleagues worldwide, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines โ€“ Leyte Chapter (NUJP Leyte) in Central Philippines joins the call for the immediate release of Honneur-David Safari, the editor-in-chief of La Prunelle Republic Democratic of Congo (DRC), who went missing on Sunday, December 28, in Bukavu, DRC.
Honneur-David is a member of Forbidden Storiesโ€™ SafeBox Network. He disappeared after sending his wife a message saying, โ€œI’m on my motorcycle, but I’m being followed.โ€ Since then, he has had no contact with his family.
La Prunelle reportedly operates under intense pressure in North and South Kivu provinces, as it is under the control of the AFC-M23 rebels. The publication provides a voice for youth, women, and marginalized communities.’
NUJP Leyte supports the call for his release by Forbidden Stories for his release. As stated by NUJP Leyte, โ€˜the world is watching, and Honneur-Davidโ€™s vital investigations will continue.’
