Philippines, Roblox Hold Singapore Dialogue on Strengthening Online Child Safely

Singapore- The Philippine government and Roblox officials held a dialogue in Singapore on August 27, 2026, focusing on stronger cooperation and compliance measures to address growing concerns over online child safety.
The meeting sought to translate commitments into measurable and sustained actions, as Philippine authorities push for greater protection of children and young users in digital platforms.
The Philippine delegation was led by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda and CICC Executive Director Undersecretary Renato “Aboy” Paraiso.
Also joining the delegation were National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Chairperson Ella Blanca Lopez, House Committee on Women Chairperson Rep. Ann Matibag, representatives from the Senate of the Philippines and the Office of the Executive Secretary, and Ronald Gustilo, national campaigner for Digital Pinoys.
Roblox was represented by Priyanka Bhalla, Director for Public Policy, Government and Global Impact for APAC; Joshua Jeyaraj, Principal Counsel for Southeast Asia (Regulatory & International Legal); and representatives from Asia Group Advisers, including Regional Managing Director Stefano Scuratti and Associate Director Marissa Lee.
The dialogue comes as governments worldwide face increasing pressure to ensure that online platforms provide stronger safeguards against risks faced by children, including harmful content, inappropriate interactions and other threats in digital environments.
For the Philippines, the engagement underscores the government’s push for closer collaboration with technology companies to ensure that child-safety commitments result in concrete measures rather than remaining solely policy declarations.
The Philippine delegation called for continued cooperation and compliance from Roblox, emphasizing the need for actions that can be measured and sustained in protecting children online.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of coordination among government agencies, lawmakers, civil society and technology companies in responding to the rapidly evolving challenges of children’s online safety.
