Storya ta ☺️
During our first anniversary celebration last month (April), my message contains the idea that, “if we want to make things happen, we should be in a place where we have a control over it”. We need to become the decision maker in order to deliver change or in order to introduce new innovations. We have a control over our own choices. We can maximize that aspect based on our individual capacity.
We recently stop to complain and criticize as means to address our frustrations to make things happen for the community and for our Boracay advocacies. We now try to workaround and contribute based on our capacity than talk around and look desperate.
That’s the story of GMarket!
GMarket existed for the following reasons:
1) To support, empower, and be the voice of the MSME in Boracay — to have a trade venue for SPAB, and to provide an avenue as the highway of their products and services’ promotion.
2) To promote and preserve our local heritage in the forms of: products, food, art, handicrafts, practices.
3) To honor our local artisans.
4) To employ locals to economically help families.
5) To take pride that local Boracaynons can create decent brands to discourage further insertion and domination of franchise companies in the island.
This legacy continues as we expand the brand to the world’s famous white beach of Boracay. Yes, from the Main Road of Station 3, the GMarket model is landing in the front beach SOON!!
To set expectations, we are not the brand that is crazy and focused on the esthetics of our platings. The character of our food is anchored to our Filipino heritage without tweaks or twists to fancify its presentation. We will provide good, clean, fair food for all that carries the story of Filipino — and food with good value for money. We will practice the principles of Slow Food and be fair to local producers. We will dictate the customer behavior when it comes to food selections based on local produced ingredients.
This sounds compelling and difficult to deliver…but we will deliver.
We think local to impact global. Help us push forward, support your local players. Together, we can reestablish our own cultural identity.
Kitakits sa Station 1 soon? 😁
