Iloilo City- Management officials and employees of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas commenced the month-long celebration of the National Womenโs Month today during the Flag Raising Ceremony.
Dr. Gina Borja, chairperson of the Gender and Development Focal Point System of DA Western Visayas, shared that the DA Western Visayas will be conducting a series of events supporting the celebration. These include the Kadiwa sa Kapitolyo where women farmer cooperatives and enterprises will sell their agricultural produce at Iloilo Provincial Capitol and the Talakayan ng Kabahaihan sa Kabisayaan (Forum) in Iloilo City on March 12-14.
DA Western Visayasโ Regional Executive Director Dennis R. Arpia commended the roles and contributions of women particularly in advancing the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
