
KALIBO, Aklan- 4-H Club Aklan Young Farmers were selected to the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan Batch 7. Together with the Batch 6 Graduates paid a Courtesy Visit to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
Mr. Mark John Tugba of Malinao and Mr. Joel Villanueva of Kalibo officially paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Alexys T. Apolonio on May 14, 2026 following their acceptance to the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) Batch 7 under the Department of Agriculture โ Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
Joining them during the courtesy visit were FYFIPT Batch 6 Graduates Mr. Ezekiel Tandas of Tangalan and Ms. Gee Ann Tipan of Makato, who successfully completed the farming internship program in Taiwan.
Mr. Tugba and Mr. Villanueva are among the 50 young Filipino farmers selected nationwide to participate in the prestigious internship program, which aims to develop globally competitive young agricultural leaders through advanced agricultural training and exposure to modern farming technologies in Taiwan.
According to the official communication from ATI Regional Training Center VI, the selected participants will attend the Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) from May 17 to June 8, 2026, at the ATI Central Office in Diliman, Quezon City. Upon completion of the required preparations and medical examinations, they will proceed to Taiwan for the 11-month internship program.
The FYFIPT is designed to strengthen the technical knowledge, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities of young Filipino farmers by exposing them to innovative and modern agricultural practices implemented by partner countries.
Also present during the courtesy visit were Ms. Juvi Trieste, 4-H Club Provincial Coordinator, and Mr. Jonard Tobese, 4-H Club Provincial President, who expressed their full support and pride for the young farmers representing the Province of Aklan in the international agricultural internship program.
