Pray for Wonderwoman of Aklan

Jenny Retiro, 53 the so-called ‘Wonderwoman’ of Aklan reported in his facebook post that he was a victim of an indiscriminate attack from a drug suspect he did not identify.

This happened in New York City, USA.

Because of the attack, he was hospitalized. The event happened last January 19, 2022.

“My case is not related to Asian hate crimes. Though what happened to me was brutal. I saw the CCTV of what had happened to me and the suspect has already been identified, arrested and convicted for 22 years in prison,” he said.

Retiro was walking alone in an alley when the suspect jumped at him and declared a hold-up pointing a gun. When Retiro said he did not have any money, he was shot and hit at his right leg.

“I then decided to play dead and when I noticed that the perpetrator had left. I went home. Later, I was brought to the hospital for an emergency by friends,” he added.

Retiro is currently still undergoing therapy.

Retiro has been representing the LGTBQ community of Aklan in New York for dressing as Wonderwoman, a Marvel Comic Heroine character.

He is considered a hero by many in the province for helping charity, especially helping children in the hospital.
