In a celebration of creativity and community, CARD MRI spearheads SineMaya 2023, a dynamic Short Film Festival featuring contributions from various Microfinance Institutions nationwide. The festival showcases eight compelling short film entries, each vying for prestigious titles such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Focusing on the documentary genre, the films presented at SineMaya 2023 capture the essence of community life, with a runtime spanning 15 to 30 minutes. This unique lens provides a platform for talented filmmakers to spotlight the intricate stories within microfinance-driven communities

The Film Fest, held at SM-Iloilo City, drew a crowd that transformed Cinema 3 into a bustling hub of excitement. Attendees, hailing from diverse corners of Iloilo, eagerly anticipate the unveiling of these cinematic gems that offer a glimpse into the heart and soul of community life.

Meanwhile, the Community Short Film Festival took place today, inviting viewers across the Philippines to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award among the eight remarkable short film entries. This year’s festival, themed “Pagbangon at Pag-asa: Kasangga ang MFI sa paghaharap sa bagong simula” (Rising and Hope: MFI’s Partner in Facing a New Beginning), celebrated the spirit of resilience and optimism.
Simultaneously, cinephiles gathered for a nationwide film showing across three major SM mall locations, bringing cinematic magic to Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. SM Manila in Luzon, SM Iloilo in Visayas, and SM CdO Uptown in Mindanao served as venues for this grand cinematic event.
