BORACAY ISLAND, Philippines โ€” Boracay Newcoast is positioning itself as a rising entertainment and nightlife destination on the island following the successful back-to-back concert performances of two of the Philippinesโ€™ most popular OPM bands, Parokya ni Edgar and Sponge Cola, during Hallowave 2026.

The successful staging of the October 31 concert at Newcoast Beachwalk has demonstrated the destinationโ€™s potential to host major music festivals, live concerts and large-scale entertainment events, bringing a new dimension to Boracayโ€™s tourism offerings beyond its beaches, resorts and traditional nightlife establishments.

The performances of Parokya ni Edgar and Sponge Cola, which attracted music fans eager to experience live OPM entertainment by the coast, highlighted how Newcoast can transform its beachfront into a vibrant concert venue. The event also featured DJ performances, a pyromusical display and a late-night rave, creating a full evening of entertainment for visitors and residents.
More than just a Halloween celebration, Hallowave 2026 showcased the potential of Newcoast to become a regular venue for concerts, music festivals, themed parties and other entertainment productions. Its combination of beachfront scenery, open spaces, hotel accommodations and leisure facilities provides an opportunity to develop a distinct entertainment experience in Boracay.

The development’s strategic location in Barangay Yapak also offers an alternative venue for large gatherings outside the island’s more established entertainment areas. With Belmont Hotel Boracay, Savoy Hotel Boracay and Chancellor Hotel Boracay within the development, concertgoers can combine live entertainment with accommodation, dining and other leisure activities.

The successful concert could also open opportunities for more partnerships with event organizers, concert producers, artists and entertainment brands to bring bigger productions to the island. Regular concerts and nightlife events could help attract a wider market of domestic and international visitors, particularly music enthusiasts looking for new experiences in Boracay.

For Boracay, the emergence of Newcoast as an entertainment hub could mean a more diversified tourism landscape, where visitors have more choices on where to spend their evenings. While White Beach remains the island’s iconic destination for sunset gatherings, beachfront dining and nightlife, Newcoast could establish its own identity as a center for large-scale concerts, outdoor parties and organized entertainment events.

Hallowave 2026 may well be a significant step in that direction. With Parokya ni Edgar and Sponge Cola setting the stage, Newcoast has shown that Boracay’s entertainment scene has room to grow beyond its traditional party destinations.

The challenge now is to sustain the momentum and turn successful one-night events into a continuing calendar of concerts, festivals and nightlife attractions that will keep visitors coming back to the island.
