
Malay, Aklan – August 29, 2025 – The Malay Municipal Police Station, under the leadership of PMAJ MARISSA S ARELLANO, Officer-In-Charge, intensified its crackdown on ordinance violators through the conduct of Oplan Likop (Paglibot/Pag-iikot), resulting in the issuance of citation tickets to of 17 individuals in just one night for violating the Municipal Ordinance on drinking and smoking in public places.
The operation, conducted in areas of convergence within the municipality, is part of the intensified efforts of Malay MPS to maintain discipline, order, and safety within the community. Ordinances regulating drinking and smoking in public are strictly enforced to prevent disturbances, promote public health, and ensure a safe environment for both residents and tourists, especially in Boracay Island.
PMAJ ARELLANO emphasized that the strict enforcement of local ordinances through Oplan Likop (Paglibot/Pag-iikot) is in line with the guidance of Municipal Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista, the directive of PRO6 Regional Director, PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN, and Aklan Police Provincial Director, PCOL ARNEL E RAMOS , highlighting the importance of community-centered policing and accountability.
The Malay MPS reminds the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in observing municipal ordinances, underscoring that these measures are about ensuring peace, safety, and quality of life for everyone in the municipality.
