Malay, Aklan and Taytay, Rizal Forge Sisterhood Ties to Strengthen Local Governance Cooperation

MALAY, Aklan — The Municipality of Malay, Aklan has formally strengthened its partnership with the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal through the establishment of a sisterhood relationship aimed at promoting cooperation, mutual understanding, and shared development.
The Sangguniang Bayan ng Malay warmly welcomed the delegation from Taytay, Rizal, led by Municipal Mayor Allan De Leon, during a courtesy visit on August 6, 2026.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the two municipalities to exchange messages of goodwill and discuss the importance of building stronger ties between their respective local governments.
The sisterhood relationship seeks to encourage the exchange of best practices in local governance, strengthen institutional cooperation, and create opportunities for both municipalities to learn from each other’s experiences in pursuing community development.
The initiative is anchored on Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 165, Series of 2024, entitled, “A Resolution Establishing the Sisterhood Relationship Between the Municipality of Malay, Aklan and the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal, and Authorizing Municipal Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista to Negotiate and Sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal.”
The resolution was enacted and approved in September 2024, paving the way for the formalization of closer relations between the two municipalities.
Through the partnership, Malay and Taytay are expected to explore opportunities for collaboration and the sharing of effective practices in local governance and public service.
The Sangguniang Bayan ng Malay said it remains committed to initiatives that foster partnerships and contribute to building a more progressive and responsive municipality.
The sisterhood ties between Malay and Taytay mark another step toward strengthening local government cooperation and creating platforms for both communities to pursue shared goals and development opportunities.
