WCOPA Team Philippines Brings Home 334 Awards, Thanks Cynthia Villar

MANILA- WCOPA Team Philippines 2026 paid a courtesy call on former Senator Cynthia Villar last Saturday, August 8, to express their gratitude for her continued support following their impressive haul of 334 medals and awards at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2026 in Las Vegas, USA.

The delegation won the Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World Trophy, three Performer of the World Star Trophies, 10 Finalist Gold Medals, 60 Semi-Finalist Medals, 86 Gold, 79 Silver and 58 Bronze Medals. It also earned 31 Overall Division Champion Plaques, four NYFA scholarships and one Millennium Dance Complex scholarship, and placed second in the Best Production Group Performance.

The delegates headed by National Director, Gerry Mercado, and Creative Director, Annie Tajanlangit Mercado thanked Villar for her years of support for WCOPA Team Philippines, including her provision of the Villar School of Performing Arts in Las Piñas as a venue for training, rehearsals, and preparation for international competitions.

Villar’s support reflects her commitment to nurturing Filipino talent and providing young performers with opportunities to develop their skills and proudly represent the Philippines on the international stage.

The 334 awards earned by Team Philippines 2026 underscore the world-class talent, dedication and creativity of Filipino performers.
