Aklan Bodybuilder Wins Bronze at Asian Pro Championship in South Korea

TANGALAN, AKLAN โ From the quiet town of Tangalan in Aklan to the international bodybuilding stage in Incheon, South Korea, Pauline Javelona-Panagsagan has given her home province another reason to celebrate after securing a third-place finish and bronze medal at the Asian Pro Championship on August 23.
Competing under the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Pro League, Panagsagan went up against some of Asiaโs finest athletes, proudly representing the Philippines on the prestigious international stage.
But behind her bronze-medal performance was a remarkable story of determination and self-reliance.
What made her achievement even more meaningful was the fact that Panagsagan coached herself throughout her entire preparation for the competition.
She personally handled her training adjustments, made key decisions throughout her preparation, and relied on her own discipline and judgment as she worked toward stepping onto one of Asiaโs biggest bodybuilding stages.
Her journey was not one she took alone, however.
Behind the athlete was a strong support system composed of her family, friends, fans and supporters, whose encouragement helped fuel her preparation and competitive journey.
Among those she especially thanked were her โMommys,โ Sol Antaran Panagsagan-Molo and Juanafe Antaran Panagsagan, for their prayers, constant reminders and words of encouragement that gave her strength and inspiration throughout the demanding preparation.
For Panagsagan, the opportunity to stand on the international stage was already an honor. Winning a medal while carrying the Philippine flag made the achievement even more memorable.
Her bronze-medal finish was met with pride back home in Aklan, where she received a heroesโ welcome from her family, friends, fans and supporters who gathered to celebrate her return and recognize her achievement.
The warm reception reflected not only the pride of those closest to her but also the growing admiration for an Aklanon athlete who has taken her passion and discipline beyond the province and onto the international stage.
For Panagsagan, the journey to the podium represents more than physical strength. It is a testament to discipline, sacrifice, self-belief and perseveranceโqualities that carried her from her hometown of Tangalan to the bright lights of an international bodybuilding competition.
As she continues her journey in the sport, Panagsaganโs bronze medal stands as a proud reminder that an athlete from Aklan can competeโand make her markโamong the best in Asia.
