CARD MRI honored by Kenya’s CIC Insurance Group from Kenya for expanding global microinsurance

Nairobi- CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) was recognized by CIC Insurance Group for its efforts to champion global financial inclusion during the official launch of CIC Impact on July 30, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The recognition marks the strategic partnership between CARD Mutual Benefit Association (CARD MBA), a member of CARD MRI, and CIC Impact, a newly established subsidiary of Kenya-based CIC Insurance Group. CIC Impact provides insurance protection designed for low-income families, micro, small, andmedium enterprises (MSMEs), and informal sector workers.

Through its partnership with CIC Impact, CARD MBA will share its technical knowledge, operational frameworks, and best practices to help CIC Impact build staff capacity, integrate digital technology, and expand microinsurance coverage across vulnerable communities in Kenya.

“Our mission goes beyond the Philippines. By sharing our knowledge, we aim to help partners like CIC Impact deliver simple, affordable insurance solutions that improve lives,”said CARD MRI Founder and Chair Emeritus Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip.

As one of the pioneers in microfinance and microinsurance in the Philippines, CARD MRI will continue to build international partnerships to share its social development model with microfinance and insurance institutions across Southeast Asia and Africa.
