Aklan Becones First in Western Visayas To Establish Job Placement Network

Kalubo,AKLAN — Aklan has taken a major step toward strengthening employment and career services after becoming the first province in Western Visayas to establish a Job Placement Office (JPO) Network.
The initiative was formalized through a Covenant Signing on September 25, 2026, bringing together educational institutions and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers to strengthen the link between education and employment.
Led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office VI, in partnership with PESOMAP-Aklan, Inc. and the DOLE Aklan Field Office, the activity gathered guidance counselors, representatives from Offices of Student Affairs (OSA), employment facilitators from 10 educational institutions, and Aklan PESO managers.
The newly established network aims to foster closer collaboration among schools and employment service providers, enhance career guidance and employment facilitation, and work toward JPO accreditation across Aklan.
Through the initiative, participating institutions are expected to strengthen their capacity to assist students and graduates in navigating career opportunities and connecting with potential employers.
Organizers said the partnership also provides a platform for capacity-building and sharing of best practices among educational institutions and PESOs.
With the establishment of the JPO Network, Aklan is laying the groundwork for more coordinated employment and career development services, benefiting students, graduates, and jobseekers across the province.
