KALIBO, Aklan- Akeanon’s pride Lesley Mobo, an international fashion designer is now being considered a genius for coming up with a white gown to be used by President Bongbong Marcos’ first lady for the inauguration ceremony.

Mobo said that the gown is made from a vintage pina fabric of Aklan. During the Spanish era, the Aklan province was known for piña fiber fabrics mainly used for barongs.

Earlier, Mobo’s mother, also from Aklan, was seen having a friendly chat with Atty  Louise Araneta-Marcos, an incoming first lady.

“The First Lady’s MOBO terno Piña Terno Dress. Wala ng mas angkop pang kasuotan bukas kundi ang gawang Pinoy! MOBO Piña terno para sa Unang Ginang ng Pilipinas!,” said President-elect Bongbong Marcos in his official facebook page.

The inauguration of Bongbong Marcos as the 17th president of the Philippines is scheduled to take place at around noon on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the National Museum of Fine Arts. The chief justice of the Supreme Court will administer the oath of office.

In an earlier news post by the Boracay Island News Network, Mobo said he was the one who designed the dress of Atty Louise Araneta-Marcos.

She wore the red dress during the historic miting de avance of the Uniteam in Parañaque City on May 8, 2022.

“So proud to be part of this historic moment! Lisa Araneta-Marcos wearing an Aklanon designer A RED LESLEY MOBO terno dress at the UNITEAM Grand Finale Rally “Miting de Avance”,” he said. Mobo at the start of the Uniteam campaign has been an active BBM supporter.
