American pensioner donates dog food to Aklanons during US Independence Day

KALIBO, Aklan- An Aklanon but at the same time a pensioner of the United States of America (U.S.A.) has donated free dog food to pet lovers in the province of Aklan on July 4 as part of his tribute to the American Independence Day.

Albert Manalo who hailed from Altavas, Aklan said he donated a kilo of dog food each to 30 furlovers in Kalibo, Aklan.

Earlier, Manalo also distributed free dog food to pet lovers in his hometown Altavas. Each kilo of dog food costs P75. “Happy 4thth America. I will be forever an American Citizen. I love you AMERICA!!!! Filipino by birth, American by profession and Filipino by heart and blood,” he said in his facebook post.

Manalo is known in the province of Aklan as a passionate dog lover and an advocate of responsible pet ownership.

“If given a chance to live again, I would like to be a dog. Gusto ko malaman kong colored ba or black and white tingin nila sa atin at kong paano intindihen salita nila. Pangarap ko magkaroon ako ng dog shelter para mapangalagaan sila,” he said.
