To those in the gilded towers of power, where human dignity is a line item, this is not a plea, but a clear-eyed declaration from the vast majority you have chosen to ignore, marginalize, and exploit.
We, the people, are not blind. We see the insatiable greed that fuels your policies, the relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of planetary health and human well-being.
We witness the systematic dismantling of social safety nets, designed to catch those who falter, now replaced with a callous insistence that poverty is a personal failing, not a meticulously engineered outcome.
Your anti-people stance manifests in poisoned air and water, in healthcare systems that prioritize profit over life, in educational institutions increasingly out of reach for ordinary families, and in housing markets that price out the very workers who build your empires. Your anti-poor policies are etched into the faces of hungry children, in the despair of underpaid laborers, in the anxiety of those teetering on the brink of homelessness despite working multiple jobs. You justify this by claiming “trickle-down” economics, a lie so often repeated it has become a cruel joke to those still waiting for a single drop.
Do you truly believe your insulated world will remain untouched by the chaos you sow? Do you imagine that a society with ever-widening chasms of inequality can maintain stability indefinitely? History offers countless warnings of what happens when the disconnect between the powerful and the powerless becomes too profound. The very foundations upon which your prosperity rests โ€“ a stable workforce, a healthy environment, a functional society โ€“ are being eroded by your hand.
We urge you, for your own sake and for the future of humanity, to see beyond the quarterly reports and the stock market tickers. Look at the world you are creating. Listen to the voices you have silenced. Reconsider your legacy.
The arc of justice bends slowly, but it bends. The people are watching, learning, and preparing. We will not be forever content to live within the confines of your engineered scarcity. The call for a more just, equitable, and humane world is not merely a whisper anymore; it is a rising chorus, and it will not be silenced.
