Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-atihan 2024 Organizers vowed Bigger and Better Pageant Experience

KALIBO, Aklan- The organizers of the Binibini Ng Kalibo Ati-atihan 2024 Pageant has vowed for bigger and better pageant experience comes January 2024.

In a press conference held at the third floor new building of the town hall, Carla Suner-Doromal, committee chairperson of the Binibini pageant said that they are planning to increase the cash prizes of the pageant winners.

During the Binibini Ng Ati-atihan set this year, the first prize gets P100,000; second prize receives P70,000 and the third receives P50,000 p.lus corporate awards

“We have more preparations for January next year and hope to have more corporate sponsors,” she said.

Ann Isada from the Kalibo Tourism Office said that they have ended their submission of application form last August 15. The screening of candidates was set on August 19-20.

“We are looking for somebody for candidates 18-25 years old, preferably those who have Aklanon roots,” she said.

“We will still be accepting walk-in participants on our screening date. We will choose at least 17 finalists for the competition. Last year we selected 21 finalists from 32 aspirants,” she said.

Doromal added that those who became finalists in January 2023 could still re-apply except for those who were already announced as winners. The Binibini Ng Kalibo Ati-atihan next year is the second.

The previous ati-atihan pageant was known as Mutya ng Kalibo Ati-atihan.

Avery Mariane Sucgang who represented the New Washington town was this year’s Binibini. She represented Aklan in the Miss Universe-Philippines pageant.

The first-runner up was Rowan No who later became Aklan’s finalist for Miss Philippines-Earth.

The third was Jouella Kaye Requiro, a nursing student.

They were all trained by Raymond Villanueva, a fashion director.

Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro in his facebook page announced that the Opening Salvo for the Kalibo Ati-atihan 2024 will be held this October 7.

Mark Sy, the chair of the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival Board said the Opening Salvo is where the Kalibo LGU officially starts preparations for the Kalibo Ati-atihan 2024, considered as one of the oldest festivals in the Philippines.
