KALIBO, Aklanโ€”The Boracay Island News Network (BINN) is cheering on two young Akeanons who passed the training at an acting workshop held in Iloilo City on September 22โ€“24, 2023.

The two Akeanons were Adrianna Nicollete Cooper, 13 of Barangay Caticlan, Malay Aklan, and Early Grace Abarro, 17 of Altavas, Aklan. A Boracaynon initially participated in the workshop but withdrew later for personal reasons.

Them, together with several Ilongo artists, were trained by Laragene Retazo of Eksena Training Services. The acting workshop was held at the LS Training Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The CARD MRI Publishing House sponsored and organized the said acting workshop because the two Akeanons had passed the workshop, and were shortlisted for casting for a nationwide indie film.

Cyrene Lubigan of the CARD MRI said that they were amazed at how the two Akeanon teens showed dedication to the training.

“They will have another set of training on October 7-8. The shoot of the film is set for January next year,” Lubigan added.

It was gathered that Boracay is being eyed as one of the locations of the shooting.

The BINN hopes the two teens will go a long way in terms of acting.
