Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-atihan Queen Sucgang coming home to turn over her crown

KALIBO, Aklan—Ms. Avery Sucgang, the 2023 Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-atihan Queen, is set to come home to Kalibo soon to turn over her crown to the next queen.

According to the family of Ms. Sucgang, she is now in Macau for her new job. Despite the distance and the expenses of travel, she is coming home to fulfill her obligation.

Sucgang was crowned as the first Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-atihan in January 2023. The organizers of the pageant said a new queen will be crowned on January 12 this year at the ABL Sports Complex.

Sucgang, after winning the Kalibo crown, joined and represented Kalibo for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant last year.

As of this writing, Raymond Villanueva, a board member of the Binibining Pilipinas Executive Committee, is currently training the finalists for this year’s pageant.

Prior to the tough training of Villanueva, the 18 finalists vying for the crown were set into a preliminary interview and swimsuit competition held in the nearby San Antonio Resort in Roxas City, Capiz.

The finalists, who are a mix of previous pageant queen crown winners and newbies, were first presented to the public during the opening salvo of the Kalibo Sto in October 2023 Niño Ati-atihan Festival.
