From a Backyard Bakery to a Regional Household Name
Kalibo, Aklan – Bread & Butter Bakeshop officially launched its 40th-anniversary celebration on January 17, 2025, during the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival, marking a milestone in its journey from a humble backyard bakery in 1985 to a beloved multi-product bakeshop serving communities across the region.
Four Decades of Baking Success
For 40 years, Bread & Butter has been at the heart of Filipino homes, evolving from a simple bread maker to a full-scale bakeshop offering a wide array of products. Its Joycakes brand has become a centerpiece of every birthday and seasonal celebration, bringing families together for special moments on Christmas, New Year, and Mother’s Day.
Beyond cakes, Bread & Butter has also made a name in the pasalubong market, with its popular Biscocho de Boracay becoming a favorite among tourists. The bakeshop continues to serve high-quality, affordable, and well-loved products that have stood the test of time.

A Year-Long Celebration & Expansion Plans
The 40th-anniversary celebration doesn’t stop at Ati-Atihan—it will continue with various events, promotions, and new product offerings across different provinces throughout 2025.
Executive Vice President Cyndi dela Cruz invites everyone to be part of this exciting milestone. “We are grateful for the love and trust of our customers for the past 40 years. This celebration is for all of you who have supported us through the years. We look forward to sharing more joyful moments and expanding our reach to more communities.”

With expansion on the horizon, Bread & Butter is also opening franchise opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to bring the community bakeshop experience to new areas.
