Haresco Thanks BBM, House Speaker Romualdez for continued support to Aklan

KALIBO, Aklan- Second district Congressman Teodorico ‘Nonong’ Haresco Jr said he continues to thank President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for their continued support of the Akeanons.

Haresco said this during the distribution of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF), a program of the Department of Agriculture (DA), all over the country.

According to the DA, a total of 4624 farmers were given P5,000 each, coming from the towns of Altavas, Batan, Balete, Banga, Kalibo, and New Washington. The distribution was done at the NVC Gym in Kalibo.

“The said budget amounting to P17 million has been pending since the year 2022  at the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). My staff has to talk with the management of the DBP in the Manila Central Office for the release of the said funds intended for our farmers. Thank you, BBM and Speaker Romualdez, for the support,” he said.

It could be recalled that President BBM, who also formerly served as a DA secretary, visited the Aklan province in October 2023. Haresco, who represents the second district, welcomed the President at Kalibo International Airport.

“This April, there will be another release of funds from the DA benefiting the farmers of Aklan, ” the congressman added.
