Digital Camera Left Behind at Caticlan Airport Recovered

Malay, Aklan- Fostering unity in integrity, Security Screening Officers (SSOs) of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) facilitated assistance to a passenger who voluntarily turned over a digital camera and its accessories found at Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (Caticlan Airport) on August 11, 2026.

While performing her routine duties as checkpoint supervisor, SSO Tiffany Magbanua was approached by a passenger who had found a lost item on an empty seat near the departure area. Acting swiftly, SSO Magbanua coordinated with the airport paging department to make a public announcement in an effort to locate the owner.

When the device remained unclaimed, OTS personnel effected a formal turnover to the airport’s Lost and Found Section for proper documentation and safekeeping, in accordance with established OTS standard operating procedures.

OTS Administrator Usec. Gilberto DC Cruz emphasized that transportation security relies on a collective effort, noting that simple acts of public integrity directly assist security personnel.

“Turning over a lost item is more than an honest act, it is a demonstration of integrity that empowers our SSOs to uphold our core values and ensure a secure travel experience for all,” Usec. Cruz said.

This incident underscores the agency’s adherence to standards of integrity, accountability, and public service, consistent with the directive of President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. to uphold excellence in government service.

The OTS also advises passengers who may have misplaced items at Caticlan Airport to proceed to the airport’s Lost and Found section.
