DSWD6 Holds Project Monitoring, Pilot Testing of UFMS in Aklan

‎KALIBO, Aklan – Regional and provincial staff of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI conducts project monitoring of SLP associations in Aklan and carries out pilot testing of the Unified Financial Management System and Procurement Tools.

‎The Regional Project Management Team of SLP, along with the provincial SLP staff from the five provinces in the region, monitored SLPAs in the municipalities of Banga, Kalibo, and New Washington, Aklan. The team checked the status of the selected enterprises engaged in services, production, and retail. They also reviewed the implementation processes of each SLPA to examine the existing procurement procedures and went through their financial recording during the focus group discussion.

‎The SLPAs were also given guidance on the challenges they are currently facing to help ensure smoother operations of their livelihood enterprises.

‎The SLPAs visited were Tambak Fisher Folks SLPA, engaged in milkfish production in New Washington, Aklan; Banga 4Ps Rice Trading Association, engaged in rice trading in Banga, Aklan; and New Buswang SLPA, engaged in laundry services in Kalibo, Aklan.

‎The monitoring visit is an initiative of the Regional Program Management Office to gather actual challenges encountered by the SLPAs, provide guidance, and finalize the Unified Financial Management System and Procurement Tools that best fit the needs of SLPAs across the region./dswd6/cdf
