DTI-Aklan Conducts Diskwento Caravan in Ibajay, Aklan
A total of nine (9) distributors/establishments participated to this year’s Diskwento Caravan: Presyong Panalo Para Sa Mamimiling Pilipino conducted last June 28, 2022 at the Gavino Solidum Park, Poblacion,Ibajay, Aklan.
Participating distributors/business establishments for the activity were Fast Distribution Corporation, Lemacel Trading, MS Panay Distribution, Inc., Team Sales and Promotion, Inc., Emcor Inc., (Martelino Branch), IBON Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Aklan Cooperative Alliance, Jimms Coffee, and Ayos Lang Store.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Aklan Provincial Office, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Ibajay and the Department of Agriculture (DA), the event was aimed to provide Ibajaynons better access to good quality and competitively-priced basic necessities, prime commodities and other consumer products.
The whole day activity led to a total sales amounting to P109,854.52 which covered 17 barangays in Ibajay and 109 households served.
“This year, we decided to take our Diskwento Caravan outside Kalibo thus bringing it closer to consumers. Despite the recent increase in prices of many consumer goods and even fuel cost, we wanted to give at least one day for the people to buy their essentials at a lower price,” says STIDS, Pamela S. Roldan, of the Consumer Protection Unit (CPU) of DTI-Aklan.
TIDS Amiel P. Sumait, also from CPU, and Senior Busines Counselor Jecel Pranuelas of Negosyo Center Ibajay also assisted on the implementation of the event.
