From Community Care To Lasting Change, PTAA Launches Long-Term CSR Project in Boracay

Boracay-‘The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA™), in partnership with Boracay Foundation, Inc. (BFI), is launching a long-term community project in Cagban, Boracay, focused on two important goals: fighting malnutrition and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents.

Rather than a one-time act of giving, the initiative looks toward long-term solutions that address community needs while helping residents build opportunities for a more secure future. By bringing nutrition and livelihood into one shared effort, the project aims to support not only the well-being of the Cagban community but also its capacity to grow and thrive.

The partnership underscores a broader vision for tourism—one that goes beyond welcoming visitors and generating economic activity to investing in the people and communities that make destinations what they are. Through sustained collaboration, PTAA™ and BFI seek to help create meaningful change that can be felt long after the initial launch.

The initiative was joined by PLtCol Orlando Carag Jr., Chief of Police of Malay Police Station; Ma. Victoria Aguirre Salem, Sangguniang Bayan Member of Malay, Aklan; Dindo Salazar, Chairman of Boracay Foundation, Inc.; and Claribel Casimero, Vice President for Finance of Boracay Foundation, Inc.

For PTAA™, this marks an important step toward making corporate social responsibility more than an activity on the calendar—it is a commitment to working with partners and communities toward lasting, tangible progress.

Because meaningful tourism development begins with the people. And lasting change begins with a commitment to stay, work together, and make a difference.
