KALIBO, Aklan- Second District Congressman Teodorico Haresco has personally lobbied for more relief goods for the province of Aklan affected by the recent typhoon ‘Paeng’

In an interview, Haresco said that among those who responded promptly to his call were House Speaker Martin Romualdez, LPGMA Partylist Allan Ty, San Miguel Corporation, Okada Manila, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Office of the Civil Defense.

Haresco was at C. Laserna Street on Wednesday, together with Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro and Poblacion Barangay Captain Neil Candelario, to meet residents and assist in cleaning the streets affected by Paeng.

“Based on reports, damage in Aklan from typhoon ‘Paeng’ has reached P183 million, many of whom were livestock. This is the reason why we personally went around Libacao, Tangalan, Ibajay, Malinao, and Kalibo towns to oversee the distribution of relief goods. There will be more relief goods to arrive in the coming days,” said Haresco.

\Sucro, for his part, said he is thankful to Congressman Haresco for helping the First Director of Aklan, even though it is not in his jurisdiction.

“I also thanked the people of Kalibo for their resilience. We can survive this ordeal,” said Sucro.
