Kalibo, Aklan โ€“ [Date] โ€“ In a pioneering initiative to elevate the quality of public service, the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo has launched an ISO Accreditation program aimed at improving service delivery within the community. This ambitious project is spearheaded by the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Juris Sucro, and the Sangguniang Bayan, under the guidance of Vice Mayor Dr. Cynthia dela Cruz.

The program, a first for the LGU Kalibo, seeks to streamline bureaucratic processes and enhance operational efficiency in public service. Funded through the 2024 annual budget of the Municipal Planning and Development Council, this initiative lays the groundwork for Kalibo’s aspiration to achieve city status.

ISO Accreditation,(International Organization for Standardization) serves as an independent assessment to validate an organization’s compliance with specific, internationally recognized standards. The municipality is setting its sights on ISO 9001:2015, a certification that demonstrates dedication to quality management systems. TuV Rheinland Philippines, renowned for its expertise and excellence, is the accredited provider of training and certification services.

“The ISO accreditation is not just a badge of honor; it is a commitment to our constituents that we prioritize their needs and expectations,” said Vice Mayor Cynthia dela Cruz. “Under my leadership, I envision a legacy where the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan becomes the first ISO-certified institution Sangguniang Bayan Office in LGU Kalibo.”

Participating in this pioneering venture are staff and employees of the Sangguniang Bayan, who are actively engaged in the process of refining their service protocols to better meet the expectations of the Kalibo community.

“This initiative is a collective effort,” added Mayor Juris Sucro. “We recognize that effective governance relies on our ability to provide services that are not only efficient but also satisfactory to our constituents.”

As Kalibo take off on this quest for excellence, the commitment to achieving ISO Certification signals a forward-looking approach to governance. The Sangguniang Bayan aims to inspire other local government units to adopt similar measures in pursuit of quality service delivery.

With a clear vision and strong leadership, the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo is poised to become a role model for efficiency and quality in public service, marking a significant step towards the realization of its goal to become a city.
