Lezo LGU Earns National Recognition for Health Workplace Program

LEZO, Aklan — The Municipality of Lezo has earned national recognition for its efforts to promote a healthy and supportive workplace for its employees, particularly its healthcare workforce.
The Local Government Unit of Lezo, through the Lezo Primary Care Facility (PCF), was named a National Awardee in the Healthy Workplace Program 2025, receiving a Plaque of Excellence during the HealthScape Convergence 2026 held on September 29 at District 21 Hotel in Iloilo City.
The recognition highlights the municipality’s continuing efforts to promote the health, safety, welfare and overall well-being of its workforce.
The Healthy Workplace Program seeks to foster a working environment where employees are supported and empowered to contribute effectively to improved health outcomes and quality public service.
Representing the Municipality of Lezo in receiving the award were Engr. Benilda A. Valencia, Municipal Civil Registrar and HRMO Designate, and Cecille G. Javier, Administrative Aide I of the Lezo PCF.
The award also recognizes the collective efforts of the Lezo municipal health workforce headed by Dr. Alyssa Faye N. Azarraga, together with Keran C. Palma, RN, Healthy Workplace Program focal person.
The LGU also credited Municipal Mayor Meekia F. Icasas, RN, and V8ce Mayor Mary Lenette Fernandez for thier support and commitment to promoting the health and well-being of the municipal workforce.
Officials likewise acknowledged the contributions of LGU Lezo functionaries, department heads, offices, personnel and partner organizations whose cooperation helped advance the Healthy Workplace Program.
The national recognition underscores Lezo’s commitment to building a healthier, safer and more supportive workplace while strengthening the delivery of public health services to its constituents.
The achievement is being hailed as a milestone for the entire LGU Lezo family and its continuing pursuit of excellence in public service.
