LGU -Malay Strengthens Tourism Ties With South Korean Tour Operators

MALAY, AKLAN โ The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay is strengthening its tourism partnerships in South Korea to expand market opportunities and attract more Korean tourists to Boracay Island and mainland Malay.
Through the Municipal Tourism Office, the LGU conducted an Official Tourism Promotion and Business Engagement Mission in Seoul, South Korea, meeting with major Korean travel and tour operators, including JPB World Main, Hana Tour, Mode Tour, and Yellow Balloon.
The delegation was led by Mayor Frolibar Sacapaรฑo Bautista, together with Vice Mayor Niรฑo Carlos F. Cawaling, Sangguniang Bayan Member Natalie C. Paderes, chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, and Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr., Chief Tourism Operations Officer.
Dindo Miguel Martin F. Salazar, chairman of the Boracay Foundation Inc. (BFI), also supported the mission.
During the business engagements, the delegation showcased the diverse tourism products, services, and experiences offered by Boracay Island and the Municipality of Malay, highlighting attractions beyond the island’s world-famous white-sand beaches.
The meetings also provided an opportunity to discuss existing tourism challenges and explore collaborative solutions to improve market access, strengthen destination connectivity, and establish closer links between Korean travel operators and local tourism stakeholders.
Discussions further explored the development of innovative tourism packages and diversified visitor experiences aimed at providing Korean travelers with more convenient, seamless, and memorable trips to the destination.
The LGU-Malay expressed optimism that the business meetings would lead to long-term partnerships that will support sustainable tourism growth and strengthen Boracay and mainland Malay’s position in the South Korean travel market.
The initiative forms part of the municipality’s continuing efforts to promote its tourism offerings internationally and broaden its reach among foreign travelers.
