Malay Aklan- Boracay IslandTravel enthusiasts can once again look forward to visiting the beautiful island of Boracay at a budget, with the Malay Aklan local government joining this year’s Travel Sale Expo (TSE).
The Global Tourism Business Association will hold its third installment of the travel trade expo on September 26 to 28, 2025 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City.
GTBA President and TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan welcomed their renewed partnership with the Malay Aklan LGU and re-elected Mayor Frolibar Bautista. The local government will join 200 other exhibitors from the airline, hotels, tours, and cruises sectors.
Taylan and [Bautista / LGU representative] held a contract signing last month in Boracay Island and highlighted the exciting new offers awaiting expo attendees in September.
“The Malay Aklan LGU has always been a trusted partner when it comes to our goal to really elevate Philippine tourism. Boracay is already a household name, and yet Mayor Frolibar shares the same view that we should always innovate and give the traveling public the very best,” Taylan said.

Travel to Boracay has breached pre-pandemic figures at over two million in 2023, according to data from the Department of Tourism. Among the efforts to promote the tourist island and other travel destinations in the country is the push for more Muslim-friendly offers. This is thanks in part to the initiative of the DOT, GTBA, and insights from ambassadors, and travel groups. Last year, Boracay launched the first-ever Muslim-friendly beach in the Philippines.
In a message, Bautista welcomed the opportunity to work with GTBA for another round of the Travel Sale Expo. With another term in office, Bautista pledged to uplift tourism in the island.
“We are thankful and excited for the new opportunity to serve the people of Malay. Now, we have the Travel Sale Expo as a means to promote Boracay, and I assure the travelers they will have plenty to look forward to,” Bautista said.
“That’s just Boracay, what about the other destinations in and out of the Philippines. So I urge those saving up for their vacation, come visit Travel Sale Expo 2025 “Your Gateway To The World!”—we’ll see you there,” he added.
