The local government of Malay, Aklan will soon be giving out incentives to their residents who are 80 years old and above.
This developed after the Sangguniangย Panlalawigan of Aklan endorsed an ordinance recognizing and granting benefits to 90 years old Malaynons. The SP has endorsed the said ordinance during their regular session.
The approved ordinance states that 90 years old residents will be given P90,000 incentives.
It was gathered that the Sangguniang Bayan of Malay has approved such on November 19, 2021. It was authored by Malay Councilors Dalidig ‘Datu’ Sumndadand and co-authored by Malay Vice Mayor Niรฑo Carlos Cawaling and Councilor Junthir Flores.
The authors state that the local government of Malay is a fervent advocate of raising the standard of living and improving the quality of life within the Municipality. “As well as value the dignity of every human person and guarantee full respect for human rights.”
The authors also added in their two pages ordinance that reaching the age of 90’s also requires self-discipline and immense strength or will to achieve longevity which is admirable, and must be a source of inspiration to encourage other generations to take care of their health and be productive members of society.
