KALIBO, Aklan- The need for the participation of the Civil Society Groups was cited as an important goal in order for the ABC+ Project in Western Visayas to be successful. Key players in the ABC+ Project met at the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival Hotel last March 25, 2022.
Among those who participated were representatives coming from the PCCI-Aklan, KMME Association of Mentors and Mentees in Antique Inc.; Kiwanis Club of Kalibo Ati-Atihan and Kiwanis Club of Kalibo Blue Diamonds
Paul John Mirto, Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis International Philippine South District 2C, together with Mr. David S. McBride Rotary Satellite Club of Iloilo South – Pueblo de Panay, Rotary International District 385 and Ms Kathleen Arce, Past Asst. Governor, Rotary International District 3850 attended the TWG meeting online.
Ronald So, regional coordinator of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Human Resource Development Foundation Incorporated PCCI-HRDFI said that he thanked the facilitators in the TWG meeting. They were Angelo Galvez, Program Assistant of the PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation; Marlon Miña; Executive Director, PCCI HRDF ; Christele Rojano, Assistant Program Officer of The Asia Foundation and Quintin “KIT” Atienza II, Education Governance Manager, ABC+ Project, The Asia Foundation .
The ABC+ is a project of DepEd and USAID implemented by RTI Intl for quality early grade education. Learning Connects is a platform for sharing resources for teachers & parents to help ensure learning continuity during the current pandemic and beyond.
Over a thousand of HLRK will be handed over to the Department of Education in Region VI, and will be distributed to learners in the region.
The kits aim to support the learning continuity of children as well as to provide teachers and guardians a practical tool to teach mathematics at home and at school.
