ILOILO City- Around 2,537 vacancies for local employment and 867 work abroad are up for grabs at the DOLE 90th Anniversary Job Fair at SM City Iloilo Activity Center on December 7, 2023.
The job fair offers a wide range of opportunities from service, human resource and manpower, retailing, warehousing and construction industries. There are vacancies for IT graduates and skilled workers such as welders, auto-mechanics, plumbers, electricians, heavy equipment operators, bartenders, cook, therapist, and managers.
Participating companies are also looking for engineers, accountants, pharmacists and other PRC license-holder professionals.
This Job Fair is part of DOLE’s mandate to provide employment opportunities to all,” underscored Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. “We welcome high school graduates, fresh graduates, skilled workers and those from the marginalized sector to take his opportunity which aimed to uplift their economic condition and address the challenges of poverty.”
Overseas employment agencies also offer opportunities for hospital and medical staff, restaurant and hotel crews, plant mechanics and store managers and staff.
Apart from the Job Fair, the celebration also features the releasing of Php7,641,848.00 worth of checks and material inputs for various livelihood projects covering 353 beneficiaries who are mostly marginalized fisherfolks, vulnerable self-employed workers, parents of child laborers, PWD, indigenous peoples, senior citizens and women.
One of the highlights of the activity is the Kadiwa ng Pangulo showcasing products of local farmers and small business owners sold at affordable cost. This allows local farmers do farm-to-market selling making agri-products and other commodities accessible and affordable to the poor.
National government agencies under DOLEs Regional Coordinating Council together with the NBI, Pag-IBIG, PSA and BIR will consist of the Help Desk that will provide assistance to the clients. NBI will process mobile application for clearances, PSA for the PhilSys registration and the BIR will assist in TIN application and issuance. //jpm
