
KALIBO, Aklan โ Soroptimist International of Kalibo (A Foundation), Inc. has celebrated its 43rd anniversary on June 26, 2026, highlighting more than four decades of service and commitment to empowering women and girls in Aklan.
The event was held at the Aklan Trade and Investment Promotions Center (ATIPC), Provincial Capitol, Kalibo.
Carrying the theme, “43 Years of Transforming Lives: A Legacy of Philanthropy, Empowerment and Service,” the event will showcase the organization’s history, advocacies, and achievements since its establishment
According to Marion M.Pescasiosa, President for Biennium 2024โ2026, and Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo, SIAPR Governor (2020โ2022) and SIA Federation Director (2023โ2025), the celebration highlights Soroptimist International of Kalibo’s long-standing efforts in improving the lives of women and girls through scholarship programs, livelihood initiatives, advocacy campaigns, environmental stewardship, and community development projects.
Calizo-Quimpo said it hopes that sharing stories of hope, resilience, and transformation will inspire greater public awareness and encourage stronger community engagement in advancing the welfare of women and families.
Founded over four decades ago, Soroptimist International of Kalibo has become one of Aklan’s leading civic organizations dedicated to uplifting women through education, leadership, and service. Its members have partnered with various government agencies, private organizations, and community groups in implementing projects that promote gender equality and sustainable development.
Calixo-Quimpo expressed optimism that the anniversary celebration will not only commemorate the organization’s accomplishments but also reaffirm its commitment to continue serving future generations of women and girls in Aklan.
The group also called on the local media to help amplify stories of impact and transformation as it celebrates another milestone in its continuing mission of philanthropy, empowerment, and community service.
