VISCOM cited an Akeanon Doctor for untiring community service

KALIBO, Aklan- The Visayas Command (VISCOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has cited an Akeanon doctor and has bestowed Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal for her untiring community service especially on her untiring effort in serving communities during natural disasters.

In a document, the VISCOM has released names of those \to be given citations and one of those is Armed Forces of the Philippines Technical Service Reservist Major Beatriz Diel, a member of the Medical Corps.

According to VISCOM, DIEL along with several others’ the Award of Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal award is given pursuant to paragraph 1 -6, Section II, Chapter 1 of the AFP Regulations G-131-054 of the General Headquarters. The said directive was issued June 26, 2014 as revised.

Dr Diel heads the team of volunteers who successfully assisted the local government of Capiz in the conduct of various Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) held at Sitio Sapa Barangay Adlawan Roxas City, Capiz last April 2022.

They also successfully assisted the conduct of HADR to victims of landslide at Sitio Baklayan, Brgy Aripdip, San Rafael, Iloilo also last April 2022.

These areas were affected by Typhoon Agaton and the outreach program has affected by a hundred residents.

Dr. Diel is the Group Commander of the 502nd Technical and Administrative Service Group covering the whole Panay Island. She is also a strong advocate of environment being one of the founding officers of Kool Earth Aklan, Inc. The environmental arm of Aklan Medical Society.
