
Hamtic-:The University of Antique โ Hamtic Campus College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Science (CAFFS), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Western Visayas Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Council VI, conducted the Youth Congress: Campus Invasion for CAFFS students at the Farmers Agribusiness Development Center today, May 28, 2026.
The Youth Congress, which aims to disseminate information on the programs, projects, and potential research areas under the DA-WV Banner Programs, namely Rice, Corn, Organic Agriculture, Livestock, and High-Value Crops, was held in celebration of Farmersโ and Fisherfolksโ Month, honoring the sector that serves as the backbone of food security, rural development, and economic stability.
Dr. Godelyn S. Gallega-Hisole, UA President, together with Prof. Glenda B. Mabaquiao, Campus Administrator, and Dr. Arvin Subillaga, Program Head, personally received and welcomed the guests, including Engr. Buen S. Mondejar, Farmer Regional Executive Director/RAFC Chairperson; Sonnie S. Guanco, Agriculture Program Coordinating Officer (APCO)-Antique; and Engr. Ruby Jane Octaviano, RAFC Coordinator, along with guests from the Province of Antique, Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council, Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division, and Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division.
Young Farmers Challenge winners were also featured during the program to inspire students, promote innovation and leadership, and cultivate a new generation of motivated agri-fishery professionals who will champion sustainable development and help strengthen the countryโs food systems.
