75 LGU’s under the KADIWA Program
Iloilo City- 75 Local Government Units(LGU) from different provinces in Western Visayas took part in the two-day orientation of the KADIWA Program “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa” sa Masaganang ani at Mataas na Kita, of the Department of Agriculture on April 15-16 , 2025, Iloilo City.
“The marketing initiative of the DA through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) aims to gain access to quality, safe and affordable agri-fishery products and provide effective farm to consumer food supply.” Emphasized May Ann Grajo , DA Supervising Agriculturist .
Representatives from the local government units were briefed on their crucial role to support the different KADIWA program, the partnership will definitely provide access to the establishment of stores, facilitation of direct marketing to the farmers and elimination of middlemen in the agriculture supply chain and will make sure that consumers will have access to fresh farm produce at a lower price, she added.
LGUs from Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz, Antique and Guimaras walked through the different programs of KADIWA ng Pangulo such as the financial grant assistance which aims to capacitate farmers and fisherfolk to become reliable food commodity suppliers to consumers and for community based organizations as well as to operate the Kadiwa center and retail stores.
