MAKABAYAN-Aklan announced its initial endorsement of Makabayang kandidato for the capital town of Aklan and Eatern District
Today marks a historic date for MAKABAYAN-Aklan as, attuned to its strong solidarity with the working class of the world in celebrating International Labor Day, the progressive political party announced its initial endorsement of candidates for the 2022 national elections that would carry-out nationalist and progressive change in Aklan.
For mayor in the municipality of Kalibo, MAKABAYAN-Aklan endorsed the candidacy of BM Juris Bautista Sucro and his running partner for vice mayor, Dra. Cynthia Dela Cruz.
For the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo, the coalition endorsed the candidacies of Raymar Acevedo Rebaldo, Ketchie F. Luces and Atty. Christine C. Dela Cruz and Philip Yerro Kimpo.
For the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in the 1st District of Aklan, MAKABAYAN endorsed the candidacies of Mark Vega Quimpo and Mark Ace L. Bautista.
They were selected based on their track records and commitment to bring about progressive change in the municipality, province as well as to improve the lives of every Aklanon. Furthermore, these endorsed candidates committed to take part in the national endeavor to rebuild the countryโs governance credibility and strengthen the spirit of nationalism and national patrimony in the next period.
MAKABAYAN believes that strong cooperation with candidates who share the common stand and principles with the coalition in the field of legislating laws to uphold and defend the socio-economic and political development of the people, is instrumental in realizing our aspirations for a progressive society.
MAKABAYAN vows to the significance of this yearโs exercise of the peopleโs right to suffrage, especially that the outgoing Duterte regime is desperately displaying its ardent desire to strengthen the current oppressive national state under a corrupt, dictatorial, and tyrannical rule via the Marcos-Duterte tandem. The dictator’s heir is bound to clear the way for Duterte’s easy escape from his crimes and accountability.
