More Akeanons Enter the Cabinet of PBBM
KALIBO, Aklan- More Akeanons have been tapped by the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to run their cabinet posts.
In a report by the Philippine News Agency (PNA) Friday afternoon, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles confirmed in a statement that President Marcos Jr. has appointed Solidum as Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Solidum, whose family hails from Ibajay, Aklan. He can also speak and understand some Akeanon languages.
“Solidum is a geologist who has worked with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology and was DOST Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation before his new appointment,” the PNA report said.
Earlier, the Boracay Island News Network reported several Akeanons who have been tapped by President Marcos Jr. to be in his cabinet. Among those is Christopher Pastrana, who traces his roots to Kalibo. He was appointed the general manager of the Philippine Ports Authority.
Another is Mel Robles. Although not an Akeanon, he has properties in Kalibo.
Famous Hollywood designer Lesly Mobo from Nabas, Aklan has also been chosen many times by Marcos Jr.’s first lady as an official fashion designer for several important events, such as the inauguration ceremony.
