Quezon City- Continuing its earlier effort to bring academic work into public spaces, Ateneo de Manila University has carried out a second journal donationโ€“this time placing its materials at the Quezon City Public Library.

Through this initiative, selected journals are introduced into a public setting, allowing a broader audience to access research that explores themes in Philippine society, culture, history, and interdisciplinary studiesโ€”subjects that are typically housed within university spaces. Nearly a hundred copies were turned over, drawn from Ateneoโ€™s renowned publications, includingย Perspective in the Arts and Humanities,ย Budhi: A Journal of Ideas and Culture,ย Social Transformations: Journal of the Global South,ย Journal of Management for Global Sustainability, andย Philippine Studies: Historical and Ethnographic Viewpoints.

Instead of being confined to classrooms and institutional libraries, these journals are now available in a shared community space frequented by students, researchers, local residents, and independent learners seeking educational resources. The Quezon City Public Library, recognized for promoting inclusive and accessible education, serves as an ideal setting for this initiativeโ€”bridging formal academic work with everyday learning.

The turnover highlighted a shared vision between the University and the public library: to foster a culture of reading, inquiry, and informed discussion. Representatives from both sides emphasized the value of collaboration in making research outputs more relevant and meaningful to diverse audiences.

This effort reflects Ateneo de Manila Universityโ€™s broader commitment to its mission of contributing to public discourse and community development by expanding the reach and relevance of its research.
